Athletes On Their Way Out

As the halfway point on the school year is coming to a close, athletes at Whetstone High School are starting to make final decisions on their futures after high school. Here are some of the 2016 senior athletes on their plans after high school, and their final thoughts and advice:

Wrestler Ferris Clark: College bound. Final four choices: Florida State University, New College of Florida, Ohio University, and Ohio State University.”Just follow your dreams”

Basketball Player Tommie Lee: College bound and plans to study business management and play basketball. ”Make the best out of high school while you can.”

Soccer, hockey, and volleyball player Akeem Adesiji: College bound. Final four choices: Ohio State University, University Of Michigan, Allegheny College, University of Colorado Boulder.” Go out and play men’s volleyball.”

Baseball player Sam Price: plans to further his studies at Columbus State Community College and then The Ohio State University.  “Good luck”

Football player Aidan Tuttle: Plans to play football at The Malone University.” Sometimes you’re gonna think it’s not cool, but it’s cool.”

Cross country runner and Baseball player Nick Hall: College bound. Plans on playing baseball and major in sports management. Final four choices: Baldwin Wallace University, Wittenberg University, Ohio Dominican University, Otterbein University. “Start your college stuff early in your junior year rather than your senior year so you have more time and options for yourself.”

Drill team and Cheerleader Emily Flanagan: plans to further her studies at Mount Carmel College of Nursing.” Whetstone’s a good school, I think overall the student body is very supportive of our sports.”  

Baseball player Zach Barnum: plans to further his studies at either Columbus State Community College or the Ohio State University.”Go to the bathroom before you come to school.”

Tennis player and swimmer Alice Pajor: College Bound.” Don’t ballout, stay in the pool.”

Drill team member Symone Rhae: plans on furthering her studies at the University of Akron and majoring in early childhood education. “Whetstone helped me become the person I am today and I’m thankful for all the great people I’ve met. I’ll never forget all the memories I’ve created at Whetstone.”

Soccer player Jackson Pitenski: plans on furthering his studies at Columbus College Of Art and Design.

Tennis player Aleks Park: plans on furthering his studies at Ohio University and majoring in audio engineering.”Get this money.”

Soccer, cheerleader, basketball, and track runner Emily Morrison: plans on furthering her studies at the Ohio State University and majoring in international business and Spanish. “I loved Whetstone, couldn’t have asked for a better high school. Be involved in every opportunity you can.”

Football player Colin Lind: Plans to further his studies to Hocking College.”Stay up and do what you want.”  

Swimmer Natalie Hunt: College bound.” free sam”

Soccer player Christian Schumacher: plans to further his studies at Columbus State Community College and get a part time job as well.” Feel free to turn in your homework a week late, and never listen to Kohler.”

Track and Cross Country runner Elli Schwartz: College bound and plans to major in biomedical engineering and minor in music.” Get involved you’ll meet your best friends there.”

Volleyball, Bowler, and Softball player Ila Boley: plans to further her studies at Miami university.” I enjoyed every moment of it especially on the court and field. my favorites memories were with my teammates. Sports definitely helped create a pathway for my next steps ubn life along with lifelong memories.”

Track and Cross Country runner Mariya Al-Ghawi: Plans to further her studies at The Ohio State University.” Make as many friends as possible and involve yourself in the school. it’ll make the high school experience much more enjoyable and fun. The student body is an interesting crowd to be around.

Soccer player Elena Saunders: plans to further her studies at Columbus State Community College and get an apartment.” Haha well take some online classes on VCAP so that you won’t have to be here senior year.”

Soccer player and Track runner Lauren Taylor: College bound. Top three schools: University of Kentucky, The Ohio State University, and University of CIncinnati and major in Business.” make the most out of high school and take all the chances you get. Also to look into PSEO.”

Soccer and Basketball Player Cecilia Bulgrin: Plans to further her studies at The Ohio State University and major in either Environmental Science or Marine Biology.” Study real hard so you can be rich enough to live out all your aspirations.”  

Volleyball and softball player Ryleigh Porter: Plans to take her studies  to Columbus State Community College.” Stay up on top of things and don’t give up.”

Cheerleader Veronica: plans to go to cosmetology school.

Tennis and Basketball player Sophia Rizzi: College bound plans to go to a four year college but undecided where.” Have fun! It goes by quicker than you think!”
